Starting at Google, I am going to the FAA website. Type in “FAA federal aviation administration”. That brings up the Google location for that, which is FAA.gov. I am going to click on “Federal Aviation Administration” and it will take me to www.

FAA.gov. There is a green box in the right-hand upper corner “FAA For You”. When we click on it, we can select “UAS Operators” and it will give us all the stuff UAS people need to know.

Under “Top Tasks” there is a link for “Become a UAS Pilot”. I am going to click on that link. That takes me to this page, which will show me instructions for first time remote pilots.

I am going to click on that link here in the center of the page. This page I need to read front to back or read everything under first time pilots. It will give me all the steps to get my certificate.

These are testing centers here, we will come back to that in a minute. We have to pass the written test. Then we have to fill out paperwork and send proof. So that the TSA will do our background check.

After that, they will send back an approval paperwork and we will make application to the FAA. It is all explain here. Read it and it will tell you everything you need to know. Back to the testing center, lets take the test.

So we scroll up and we click on the testing centers link. This will tell us where we can take the test. There are two companies that provide this. Computer Assisted Testing Service (or CATS) and PSI / LaserGrade.

You can call their corporate number by dialing these phone numbers. I am going to scroll down to find my city, Cincinnati, OH. I am going to see where I can take it in Cincinnati. Here’s the section on Ohio and I’ve got Cincinnati in here.
